Being at home CAN be fun...sometimes...

Lacey and I. Love her!

Me, Chelsea, and Brianna having a reunion. I look like crap but that's because I just worked out.
Well another week came and is now gone and not a whole lot has changed. I wish my life were more exciting so that I could entertain all of my dedicated blog readers (I don't have that many, but the ones I do have are golden). I haven't written a blog in a while and that isn't because I haven't wanted to...I just really don't have much to say. But I will try my best now since I have this overwhelming desire to write one.

I've been doing some serious slacking this week. I didn't work out every day like I usually do, I DEFINITELY didn't eat like I was supposed to, I woke up late most days, I procrastinated the day of my plasma donation so that I now have to spend my Friday (rather than Thursday) afternooons hooked up to a machine that sucks the life out of me, I didn't apply for a ton of jobs like I had planned, I didn't clean my room like I had planned, really I could go on and on about the things that I did wrong this week. But let me tell you this...I'm over it. I had a really fun weekend starting with Thursday night (yes my weekend starts on Thursday.) I've started to help with the parenting group at my work so on Thursday nights I stay until about 8:30 rather than 6. It's not too bad, except for this little kid that made my job extremely difficult. So at these parenting groups we have dinner and then we separate into three groups: one for the parents, one for the kids that are about 8 and older, and one for kids that are 7 and younger. My job is to take care of the 7 and younger kids while the other two groups go learn...stuff. Anywho, I have a 6-year-old, a 4-year-old, a 2-year-old (who are all brothers) and then there were these other two little kids (one was 7 and one was 8) that went to the other class but everyone else in that class was like 14 so they probably will just come with me next time. Anyway, so I'm supposed to keep these kids in this room and play with them until the classes get over. So at the beginning the three boys were all being really quiet and just playing with some big legos and it was fine. I kept the door open for the first week but I was told that if it gets too loud I just needed to shut the door. Problem with that is that the 2-year-old, who apparently hadn't spent much time away from his mom couldn't decide what he wanted more--to stay with his mom or stay in the room with us. So he spent all night going back and forth. The other two progressively got louder and louder and louder causing me to shut the door which caused problems for the 2-year-old that wanted in if he were outside of the room and out if he were inside of the room. So he kept opening and shutting the door which made the parents very distracted and I kept getting dirty looks but what was I supposed to do? When a kid wants his mom he is gonna do what he has to do to get to her...no one is going to stop him. Then, the 4-year-old peed his pants. Well normally at Partial Care (the program I work for during the day) I would just give him a change of underwear and a change of pants and put the other clothes in the washing machine. But I wasn't really sure what to do in this case because it wasn't partial care and his mom was there and we were stuck in this room and I didn't want his mom to think I was some neglectful person but at the same time I just wasn't sure what to do!! Anyway, this story is getting old. I just want you to sense some of the frustration I felt that night.

After the parenting class I met up with Melissa at her brother's house and we played a couple of really fun games and ate lots of candy and stuff that is going to make me fat and just had a lot of fun. I really love Melissa's family they are all so friendly and nice! I have met every single one of them too haha which I think is funny because half of them don't even live sorta close by. Anyway then I went and met up with Jenny and we went on a walk to the temple in the freezing cold and kept walking through sprinklers which made us wet and therefore even more cold because it was like 35 degrees. I'm rambling. But the point is it was a lot of fun seeing those two again. I am so excited for my friends to start coming back to Rexburg. I get to go and see Dan today and probably hang out with him and Melissa and maybe Jenny. I'm stoked! I have missed that Dan boy. He's my fav.

Then on Friday I went on a bike ride around the river with my sister Lora and her friend Shawn. I thorougly enjoyed that event. Especially the part where Lora got a flat tire and so we had to turn around and go back to the car and on the way back Lora almost got hit by a car. Haha there was this huge family coming toward us and they were covering all of the sidewalk plus the grass and they wouldn't move so Lora had to go into the road but there was a car coming so the car slammed on its breaks. It was really funny I still get a kick out of it. Then we went to the movie "The Last Exorcism" and it was reaaallllllyyyy weird. The first part was kind of humerous I thought (Lora did not think so, she was really not happy about seeing that movie) and then the middle was pretty freaky, and the end...was just plain weird. Like seriously...weirdest movie I've probably ever seen in my life. I don't want to ruin it for anyone but I wouldn't recommend it..unless you just want to see a really weird movie.

Then on Saturday I watched the BYU game with my family at my sister Aimee's house. That was a lot of fun. Lots of really yummy food at BYU won!! yayyy! I really actually like watching football now that I've played it and seen how it works. I am not, however, a huge fan of just sitting there for 3 hours straight watching a game on tv. So I fell asleep for a little while. But it was a way fun game! Then we came home, I went on a walk with Lora, and then we watched the Blindside. I love that movie and I'm glad I got to see it again.

Yesterday, Sunday, I went to the single's branch, came home and took a nap, ate dinner, and that night we played Pit and And It Came to Pass. My family is so intense and competitive that playing any game is just a madhouse but I loved it.

Overall, I had a great weekend! I really love my family. And I love having weekends where I actually do stuff. Being bored is not my favorite thing ever. Haha. I have talked long enough. I'm ending this now.
Adios!

Love, Joy
